Go live your life.

The months and years beyond my two episodes of cancer have been the greatest classroom in which to learn how to live - Surviving.

I would like to take you on the journey with me as I write my book on mental health and post-treatment cancer survivorship and consult on important projects related to this topic. My aim through this site is to be a guide for cancer survivors as they rebuild their lives and learn how to live. The site is a process and will be updated and refreshed consistently as the work progresses.

My two-decade career was spent addressing the needs of people with mental health problems through the clinic, public policy, and media or public campaigns. For fifteen of those years, I had the privilege of overseeing The Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism. My personal passion, as a two-time cancer survivor has brought me into this new space and the Surviving book project. Lessons abound in the world of survivorship that are applicable for almost anyone in any phase of life, even if you have not experienced cancer.  Perhaps you are entering a new phase of life such as an empty nest or retirement and could benefit from the content that survivors provide about building a meaningful life.

Below you will find ways in which we can stay connected and pass the word along. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing this journey together.
