I’m a writer and consultant who has spent the last 20 years thinking about and working toward advancing the discussion of mental health through media, program development, and policy. After experiencing and surviving two episodes of cancer, my writing and work have deepened to explore the mental health implications of survivorship whether from cancer or other significant life events.
I provide mental health expertise to clients interested in developing programs that make a difference, research that reflects questions from the real world, and training that reshapes the thinking of professionals and customers. My writing is both personal and professional as I seek to answer the question, “How do you rebuild or renovate a life after a serious health crisis or traumatic event?” Some of the answers come from my years working in mental health or my own experiences fighting serious illness, but others come from my wild world of home renovation and the 10 houses that I have renovated, rented, or flipped.
You are welcome to join me on this journey through my bi-weekly newsletter that may make you laugh or cry or perhaps both! You also can follow along through my social media channels where you are welcome to leave comments or share your own experiences.
